Yes, Larry Cossio, the original designer and patent holder of the Barrel Condom, has come out with a new improved version. Due to some company attempting to bully people in paying for royalties for the product that Larry Cossio designed, he has come up with a new improved design.

Due to some inherent challenges with the initial design, and some poor copies of the original design, Larry has improved on the concept. If a person does not tighten the barrel nut on the original design, the barrel condom will come off the end of the barrel due to the elastic band, exposing someone to a potential eye injury. There were also a few issues with people copying the product with inferior material.

New and improved!!! Now we have redesigned the barrel condom to get around the original patent, stop big bully companies from attempting to railroad you into buying or licensing something that they claim is their patent. First the design is noticeably different. We have two new designs; the first is in a triangle shape to address the ease of insertion of the barrel into the condom. The second shape is a square, which is designed to address flatline barrels, or sidearms. We have used Nylon webbing to prevent any ball from going through the material ever again.

Field owners love the idea of the safety of the barrel condom! But due to theft issues or loss of the traditional barrel condoms due to falling off, or falling out of the player's pocket, replacement became an issue. Now we have addressed that minor challenge also. We have made an attachment design where there is a loop that fits over the feed tube, this may stay on the gun and the quick disconnect clip allows the barrel condom to be released and put into the players pocket. Awesome for field owners so that they can keep the rental guns safer. We also have stopped using elastic string so that the barrel condom does not come off the end of the barrel.
